If the other child is an adult this won't matter too much, however a failure
to provide for a minor in a will could be challenged.

You should also consider life insurance, with the beneficiaries being your
wife and child directly.

PS the immoral bit would be starting another family, when you hadn't really
finished looking after the first one.
