When you are paid, and how, should be detailed as part of your
contract. A change would need to be with the consent of your employer.
I don't think you'll have any legal right to have it changed, and your
employer cannot be held responsible for how you manage your finances.
Since you say your employer 'still' pays by cheque, that sounds like
its a long-term arrangement. That would surely have given you
reasonable scope to time-shift your budgetting by three days by now.
